Samantha Fowler is a Senior Commercial Lines Account Manager at Cover Cannabis. She joined our Cover Cannabis team in 2018, bringing with her a vast experience in management and customer service. Samantha is not only a great resource for all things commercial insurance, but also has a genuine passion for helping her clients with their insurance needs, day in and day out.
Samantha is always finding ways to go above and beyond in her duties. When our team is at our busiest, she is on her “A game” keeping everything organized. Her work ethic makes her an incredible asset to the Cover Cannabis team, and we couldn’t be happier to have her with us! In her current role, she assists clients with their requests and determines the insurance options that provide the best value for their cannabis business, ensuring their hard-earned business is protected from hazards and risks.
When Samantha is working at the office, she is extremely hard working and focused on achieving company’s goals, but outside the office she likes to kick back and relax! She enjoys trying new India Pale Ales at local breweries, wine tasting, cooking for her friends and family, going on road trips, boating and hanging out at the lake watching windsurfers! Samantha and her husband own a construction company and she loves to take her son to job sites to catch a peek at some huge tractors!
When asked to share some words about Samantha, Yuritzi Valdiosera, Samantha’s direct supervisor, said, “I have seen Samantha grow as an account manager since the day she started with the company, she quickly grasped in-house procedures and mastered Cannabis like no other. It comes as no surprise to me that she is in the “spotlight” she is knowledgeable, efficient, and a great problem solver. Sam, you are a very valuable member of our team and I appreciate all of your hard work!”
To get to know Samantha a little better, we asked her a couple of question about herself and her time in the insurance world. Here’s what she had to say:
A: Insurance sort of found me, I was previously a nanny and decided I wanted to start looking for a career. I responded to a few craigslist ads and received a few job offers from marketing, to medical billing, and an insurance position which I ended up taking. I had zero experience or knowledge in the field but thought “why not!”. I ended up really liking working in the insurance industry and knew I made the right decision for a career.
A: I would say my attention to detail and organization skills.
A: To me success isn’t how much money you make or how far you climb to the top, but instead the life you build with your friends and family. Nothing makes me feel more successful than the house my husband and I made a home, the life-long friends I have made, and most importantly our sweet, funny, polite, adventure-seeking little boy.
A: Being a small step on someone’s path to building their dream, that is what makes me proud to work in the insurance industry. We’re one of the first steps to someone opening their little mom and pop shop or building a legacy for their family.
A: I just try to remind myself “we work to live; we don’t live to work.” Norm Hudson actually said this to me during my interview and that has really stuck with me.
A: “Take the risk.” It’s one of the many quote tattoos I have!
A: In my personal time, I enjoy spending time with my family. We own a little piece of God’s country here in the beautiful state of Montana. During winter we take our 4-wheelers out on the property to go snow-wheeling. In summer my son and I paddleboard together as well as go fishing. I also enjoy collecting guns and target shooting. When we’re not doing something outside, I can’t resist relaxing on the couch with a glass of wine and a good show.
