Theresa Graves began working in the insurance industry almost fresh out of high school. Before even reaching the age of 21, Theresa was already working in insurance, starting as a file clerk at a small “mom & pop” agency and the rest is history. Today, Theresa is a Senior Commercial Insurance Specialist at Cover Cannabis with close to 25 years of experience in the field. Her start in the cannabis insurance industry came when she transitioned to Cover Cannabis 15 years ago and became an integral part of growing the insurance division within the company. Because of her competitive nature and dedication, Theresa is one of the top producers at Cover Cannabis, earning the top sales spot 3 times out of the past 6 years, and she has the plaques in her office space to prove it!

Theresa says her job comes down to the following: “getting to know her customers and their business operations, learning what they are most concerned on protecting themselves from and offering the correct coverage to each person/business individually.” Based on this information, she can advise and use her experience to guide her customers to the options available. When asked what the most enjoyable part of her job is, Theresa responds, “Every day is different and I get to talk to a variety of people from all walks of life, it highlights the diversity in the cannabis space, and the beauty of the industry.”
“Never take anything for granted. Things can change in the blink of an eye if you are not careful,” Says Theresa when looking back at the lessons learned throughout her career and her outlook on success. “Set goals for yourself and meet those goals. Whether that is a weekly, monthly or even an annual goal. Push yourself to get where you want to be or get something you’ve been wanting, that is my definition of success.”
In her personal time, Theresa enjoys time with her family, including her husband, two teenaged children, and two dogs. They enjoy their large family gatherings for game nights and going on adventures in the outdoors whether it is going to the ocean, swimming in the lake, or going camping.
Juan Cruz is the VP – Marketing & Development at Cover Cannabis. He joined the company in 2016, bringing with him over 7 years of experience in direct response Marketing. Juan holds a Bachelor’s degree in Global Studies as well as a minor in Anthropology from the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA). In his current role at Cover Cannabis, he oversees all aspects of marketing and is entrusted with the task of building a consistent brand as well as successful direct-response campaigns. During his career, Juan has helped multiple companies improve and expand their digital presence, grow their lead generation, and improve their brand.
